Be Careful

Usually, the “home Assembly jobs” advertised on line are scams. They expect you to purchase a starter kit to get started. But, then they don’t provide any products or worse, after you do the assembly, your work is rejected so they don’t have to pay you at all.

Most assembly type jobs are in factories overseas where the cost is much lower for this type of work.

If you have been looking for a legit way to earn money from assembling products from home, you are not alone. More and more people are becoming intrigued by this kind of work because it’s flexible and simple.

Going to online platforms, you will find many offers for home assembly jobs. But are these jobs legit or are they scams, like so many programs out there?

Most work-from-home assembly jobs advertised on social media are scams.money in a suitcase

Before you sign up or pull out your checkbook, check the site out on Google. Google the name of the company and add review or scam and then search. Very soon you will know if the company is a scam or not.

Check the reviews, if many of the reviews are negative, then that’s an indication it might be a scam.

Also, if they ask you for money up front, it’s probably a scam. You’re trying to earn money, not spend it.

Legit home assembly jobs

So, let’s look at legit home assembly jobs.

Nevertheless, there are still some legit product assembly jobs you could easily start with zero or very little capital. In this article, we will be exploring some of these options. Read on to find out more.

Join a Work-from-Home Assembly Job Site (Many are Scams!)

First and foremost, we would like to clarify that this job option is where most scams lie. So, if you happen to come across a website promising you a job stacking stuff together, but isn’t listed on a renowned job website by a reputable company, it’s highly likely that it’s a scam.

Such sites operate by promising people a simple work-from-home job opportunity, where all you are required to do is register, assemble all products sent to you, and start earning some money.

Most of these sites ‘claim’ to pay one to put together are mainly jewelry or craft-related but may include any product that can be easily assembled with minimal experience. These include products such as pens, picture frames, CD cases, small electronics, toys etc.

For these reasons, such ‘job opportunities’ are quite appealing to unsuspecting individuals. Putting together such products is something anyone can hop on, with minimal upfront cash, and from their homes’ convenience. Similar to other scams, they build on the false promises of high wages for little effort.

So, most of these sites are likely in the business for the money. We highly doubt that one will be successful in finding a legit site that won’t scam them.

How to get started

A legitimate company will send you a FREE started kit and supplies and a finished picture of the product to be assembled. After you complete the job by following the instructions, you return the finished product. If the company is satisfied you could be on the road to earning upwards of $300 a week and still be at home to care for family.

By just following instructions and guidelines you could begin making a decent income.

Assemble Products In Your Geographic Location

This option involves helping customers put together products in your local area. Such products include TVs, furniture, bicycles, to name a few.

The downside about this is that the available job opportunities are limited to the area you reside in, and it requires you to be flexible. On the brighter side, it is legit. Let’s look into some ways you can practice this type of job.

Secure a Product Assembly Job with a Local Company

Companies across the globe, in various sectors, have customers buying their products but don’t have the physical ability, desire, or skill to put together these products.

Thus, they outsource someone’s services to do all the assembly work, at a cost over and above the item price.

In most cases, companies will use their own employees, but are sometimes forced to outsource from specialty assembly companies. Employment is either on a contract basis or employee arrangement.

Pros

Zero startup costs.

Legit companies are available.

Conschart of WA

Don’t pay much.

Jobs limited to location.

Difficult to secure a job.

Freelance on Amazon

Amazon offers a program referred to as ‘Selling Services on Amazon’ that lets someone set themselves up as a service provider for their customers. So, if someone buys a product, they can choose the option to have it professionally installed. Once you’re setup, you can assemble the product for them and get paid.

Pros

Zero startup costs.

The large customer base by Amazon offers lots of job opportunities.

You are not limited to assembly services.

Amazon is a renowned and legit company.

Cons

It also limits one to a specific area.

Amazon takes a share of 15-20% off your earnings.

Relying on Amazon isn’t the best option for long-term investment.

Start Your Own Crafting Business

Many of the work-from-home assembly jobs we found on the scamming websites revolved around making jewelry or various crafts. So, a perfect alternative to putting together products for someone else would actually be making your craft-based items and sell them at local markets, craft fairs, or online through sites like Amazon Handmade, Etsy, eBay, etc.

If you love crafting, this can be an exciting way to earn some extra dollars. Moreover, you will own your own business and are in ultimate control of it. For instance, you can make and sell handmade jewelry, bath bombs, crafts, etc. The more creative you are, the more diverse you can get with your products.

Pros

Operation is not limited to geographic location.

The startup costs are relatively low.pyramid of affiliate marketing

The online marketing space makes it easier to sell your products.

Cons

It does requires a certain amount of creativity, and a flare for uniqueness, not just assembling products such as CD cases, pens, etc.

Running costs for the business involved. Buying materials, business supplies, etc.

Subject to stiff competition on sales sites, i.e., Etsy.

To conclude, it’s possible to make money by putting together products from your home. As highlighted in this article, there are some legit home assembly jobs.

But most of these fall under the category of becoming a freelancer, i.e., small entrepreneur or contractor. Fortunately, sales and freelance sites such as Amazon and Etsy are continually rising, making it easy to get a home assembly business started.

So, there are some legit jobs out there in this field. Which option suits you best depends on one’s startup budget, how much you wish to earn, the effort one is willing to give it, your creative ability and so on.
