Finding a good niche can be daunting.
Finding a good profitable niche can be very hard to do, especially if you are a newbie. Sometimes the prospects can be overwhelming.
I love to cook and entertain, so I decided to look into a cooking niche. So, how about cooking as a niche? Cooking or baking would be too broad a niche, so you would have to narrow it down to something a little more specific, like cooking with kids, crockpot recipes, Southern cooking, comfort cooking with….. I’m sure you get the idea.
While looking for recipes on-line I ran across some cooking blogs with recipes or how to cook ideas. Just think, you can learn to cook online and earn money too. Not a bad combination.
Keywords
You will need to use the right keywords to help your site get found. They should be used in your post titles to get your articles ranked. Check google and they have many posts explaining about keyword use.
I use Jaaxy for my keyword tool. I have found it to be the easiest to understand and to use.. Check it out here. Jaaxy
Cooking is not a good keyword but “crock-pot cooking” brought up some keywords I can look at, plenty of them have good global monthly search values and medium competition: “speedy dinner ideas,” “healthy cooking” all look good. All the cooking sub-niche I checked out all have good keywords.
There is a lot of competition in cookware and bakeware products available on Amazon.
But I’m sure if you only pick a couple of items for your site it could be profitable. Include different recipes that need that type of cookware or baking ware, like a spring form pan with your favorite cheese cake recipe or a high end blender.
The sky’s the limit for cooking utensils, there are pots and pans, baking pans, blenders, food processers, immersion blenders, spiral machines, just to name a few, not including all the newest cooking pots available, like the instant pot.
Start with a website and then cook something and take a picture of it or better yet, video the complete cooking process. Videos are very popular now. They help get a lot of traffic, which we need to be successful.
Also, there are many affiliate sites to look at. Just go to Google and type in cooking + affiliates and you will find many sites to choose from. And, there is always Amazon, which has anything you could want in the cooking department.

Cook’n
Gluten Free Cooking School

Plus many more.
On Clickbank there are many cooking and food sites. Probably the best ones are related to the Paleo or Keto Diet.

Cooking niches can be very lucrative, I heard of one well known cooking blog that earns about 3 million dollars a year, but that site has a lot of coverage and advertising and has been around for quite a while. I’d settle for part of that. Put your thinking cap on and use the internet to find ideas.
You want to start a blog about something that interests you, because you will be writing many articles about it. Or making many recipes demonstrating it. Your mission is to help your readers solve a problem. Or teach them something. That is the main objective of a blog.
Starting a blog is very easy today and very inexpensive. You can have one up and operating in a very short time.

Also, you want a niche that is profitable. Check the competition by using Jaaxy or another keyword research tool. If it’s too high you will have a hard time getting traffic or selling products.

Hello there, Deanna! I think cooking is a great niche to pick for a blogging website. I run into them sometimes and the pictures always get to me and really get me to read the post. I really like how you are very honest in that one will not make money right away with affiliate marketing through blogging. I only recently started doing that and the journey has not been easy, but I do plan to keep on trying. I already felt like I invested a lot of time and money into it so why quit anytime soon? I am curious at about what point do you notice people start to earn an income?
Hi Mike, Thanks for the comments. I think cooking is a great niche. Maybe because I love to cook and bake. Usually a blog will start to earn some money after 100 to 200 articles. But a lot depends on the niche. Some are faster than others. Just keep writing and make sure your articles are long enough.[1200 – 2500] words Thanks again, Deanna

Thanks BobKay for the comments. Yes, I wish I had started a cooking niche a while ago. Might still do it. Glad you enjoyed my post and thanks again, Deanna
